Scrapbooking Class

This is a 12x12 latout I taught recently in a scrapbooking class. The weaving was really easy and lots of fun to do. 

I coloured a paper flower using classic ink pads and sponge dawbers, then added some pearls to embellish the centre.

This layout uses the 'Loads of Love' stamp set - one of the first sets I ever purchased and I still love it. It's great for male cards and even christmas cards (we'll be doing that in a quick cards class so I'll post an example of one soon...) but as you can see, it also looks great on a 12x12 layout!.

Memory Box

This is a project we made in one of my fancy folds classes a couple of months ago. I started with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock (plus a little extra for the lid and for layering).

I love the way this can be displayed as a 12x12 layout in my album, or as a photo box on my bookshelf. It also has plenty of space for journaling or more photos. 

I also used my 'All In The Family' and 'Circle Circus' stamp set which work perfectly for this project.

Making Memories

We recently made this accordion mini-album in one of my classes. I love the way this opens up with its accordion hinges. I decided to try out a Simply Scrapping Kit, which I've never used before but now I LOVE!! I chose 'Sweet Nothings' as I love these colours - Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss.

I will definately be investing in another one of these kits as it was really good value - I could have made at least three of these albums from one kit!

The front cover of album was inspired by one made by Jacque, my upline, and the pattern for the ablum itself was passed on to me by Louisa, who is part of our Creative Inkers team.

Casing the Spring Mini

I couldn't resist re-creating this gorgeous layout that I found in the new Spring Mini Catalogue. Actually, everything you see on this layout except ONE thing is already available in the current Idea Book & Catalogue as I don't have many products from the Spring Mini - Yet...! I've used Baja Breeze and Basic Grey, with Urban Garden DSP, Rub-ons, a designer brad, 1" double stitched ribbon and my Circle Circus stamp set...simple! More Circle Circus

This is the folding 12x12 layout we made as one of our Make & Takes at convention in May. I used Circul Circus to add detail to the Baja Breeze cardstock, as well as to embelish the two metal edge tags, which I've now decided are on the 'must have' wish list! Emily's dress matches these stamps perfeclty - this layout really suits a retro style. I've also invested in the Trio Flower Punch since we made this page as it looks great with these stamps and also matches a couple of other sets I have.

I don't have any photos of this project all folded up, but I'm planning to make a similar one soon so I'll post better photos then...

W is for...

Ok, I admit that I have cheated a little - I haven't been to a country beginning with 'w' so I'm using a state instead. I promised more post using 'Trendy Trees' - my current favourite - so here you go.... more to come over the next few days. Scrapping Classes

I actually made this project for my very first Class but have never posted it as I didn't ahve a blog back then! It's the first and last 6x6 page I've done in a class as I now have a 12x12 alnum to fill and am also addicted to mini-albums.

I've used the 'So Swirly' jumbo wheel and 'Priceless' set as well as 'Life Definitions' which I find great for scrapping. It's a 6x6 layout so I saved space by hiding my journaling in a pouch under the photo.

Ok, so I admit I've skipped a few letters! I was looking for inspiration and this

is where I found it today. I love my Priceless set and all the swirls seemed quite fitting for a 'Paris' layout. Sorry the photo's not the best but you get the idea...

C is for...

Another installment from my A-Z scrapbook pages. I finished this one last month and used 'Live Your Dream' which has now retired, but I still love!

I've wanted to scrap these pictures for a long time as the trip was amazing and brings back lots of memories. I wanted to keep the page fairly simple though, in an attempt to focus on the photos, rather then the embelishments.

I'm BACK

WOW! Life has been busy....

I'm so glad to have found a little time to update my blog - sorry to anyone whe has been checking back waiting for new additions. I'm going to try really hard to add regular posts from now on as I have loads of pictures for you...

This is a layout I started at one of Jacque's classes, but I left off the flowers from the 'Pretties Kit' (too girly) and finally got it finished last week. I've been wanting to use these picures for ages and the 'Something Fishy' wheel was perfect.

I also only just discovered how flexible the clear buttone are - I punched out DSP circles and mounted them behind the buttons - beautiful custom made buttons that co-ordinate with any project. I must add these to the (very long) wish list from the NEW catalogue! 'B' is for...

Here's the second of my A-Z album pages. I've never used this technique on DS papers before but this design from ' Afternoon Tea' (available until march in the SU! Summer Mini catalogue) seemed to suit it well. I also wanted to use some of my carosel notes from the Summer Mini too, but had to cut the photos by hand as I don't have a circle cutter...yet!

The start of a long project!

This is the first page of a very long project. I'm attempting to do an A-Z album of the places I've been. I'm cheating a little as I plan to include cities as well as countries but even so I'm a few letters short - I'll have to start planning my holidays around this album!

I found this page really difficult as there were so many photos that I wanted to include.

Working with Only Orange is also a real challange for me.

Recipe;

Cardstock - Only Orange, Taken With Teal, Whisper White, Basic Black, Always Artichoke.

Ink - Always Artichoke, Taken With Teal

Stamps - Short Order Alphabet, Petals Wheel

Other - Brads, Boho Blossoms Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Chipboard - On Board Lower

The boho blossoms punch has retired now but it's easy to create a very similar effect with the Spring Flower Bouquet punch from the Idea Book & Catalogue (pg 143).

Saturday Scraping Class

This is the scrapbook page we made at my class today. I had a great time so I hope the ladies also enjoyed themselves. It was really neat to see how everyone's page turned out a little differently. I love the colours on this page and the All In The Stars set is great for both boys and girls. The layout & colour choice was inspired by one I saw demonstrated by Patrice at a Hamilton Extravaganza. Now I have a month to plan for my next Saturday Scraping class on the 14th Feb...
